Dear Friends and Colleagues,
It’s with a heavy heart that I inform you that John Martinez passed away on Tuesday, May 24th, 2016.
I’ve known John my entire life, as he was with TCI for 38 years. He was a mentor, a co-worker, a family man and a friend. I’m not sure how to fill the hole he’s left behind in our hearts.
It always seemed that John knew everyone, and that everyone knew him.
I worked along-side John for the past 12 years at TCI, and for the last 8 on the Board of Directors for the LA/NTMA. We traveled together to trade shows, to customers and to networking events. He taught me how to ask the right questions, how to be more patient, and how to stop and listen.
John was as witty as he was smart, and always kind. Those that knew John always had the upmost respect, admiration and love for the person he was. I could go on with stories of how he made us laugh and how he brought an optimistic and positive view to every situation.
John was there for me, when I needed him, and when I didn’t think I did. He was even there at the hospital the day my kids were born.
John leaves behind his wife Blanca, and kids John-Michael, Joseph and Michelle who he always mentioned how proud of he was.
May he find peace in heaven, for he left the world a better place.
With love,
Ben
Adressing the entire tci family past and presesnt I want espress my gratitude to you, my pride in you, and my prayers for you and your families. My dad would work at home but he never brought home the stresses work life can have on all of us. He loved his job and can credit much of that to the TCI family. He excelled in so many areas in life and I am proud of his dedication, professionalism and care for his job and Co workers. We were blessed to know him as we did. Thanks again. JMM
Hi John, I’m very sorry to hear of your fathers passing. I just found out right this minute. You may remember me. You worked along side me in EZLok. My name is Cecilia. I new your dad since our high school days at Huntington park high school. If you happen to have his high school year book. You’ll find me under my maiden name….Cecilia Castillo. He was a very nice and understanding person. I’m shock to hear this, but my prayers go out to you and your family. God bless….
Sad to hear the news, especially that he was a young humble man and a great father. I respected his polite knowledge and professionalism everytime he would stop by to help us on projects. He will be missed.
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of John Martinez He was my supervisor 1987 when I worked in sales at TCI. Nearly 30 years later I remember him fondly as kind, professional and well respected. Along with Bert and John, the three made up the best management team that I worked for.
