Alloy 2024 aluminum plate is excellent for precision parts because of its machinability and grain structure. It has good weld properties, but less corrosion resistance than other alloys.

2024 aluminum plate has been solution heat treated, cold worked and naturally aged minimally stretched to reduce stresses in the material.
